HTC not confirm the projects for the marketing of terminals based on new operating system COS (China Operating System) . The Taiwanese manufacturer, in a statement released by mail, has reaffirmed its commitment to support current partner, declining the invitation to comment on the report of the alleged partnership with developers COS:

HTC remains focused on working with its current partners and does not comment on speculation about other operating systems

HTC, without denying the news in a dry, dampens the enthusiasm of those who had identified the possible collaboration between the company and the Chinese government – an active part in the development and promotion of COS – an important tool to improve the financial situation of the manufacturer.

The company defines mere “speculation” the hypothesis of COS marketing of devices and operating system support. Speculation arising from the presence of several HTC smartphones in the video presentation of COS | HTC One, Butterfly S and COS Flyer used to demonstrate new OS “made in China”.

It is still unclear at the moment whether HTC has simply chosen to adopt a “diplomatic”, since COS stands as an alternative platform compared to Android and Windows Phone (OS supported by the manufacturer) or if the rumor about HTC’s direct involvement in the project are actually unfounded.
