htc one vs galaxy s4 photo

continue to follow with interest HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 , the two most representative Android smartphone and desired of the moment, with a new comparison which takes place on the ground of multimedia. We have already given birth to a first comparison between the two cameras, smartphones, but considering the high interest by the two devices, and also in light of the fact that HTC One has received a major software update that also improved the yield of the camera , we went back to compare the performance of two smartphones with a new session of shots.

Please note that the photos were taken using the automatic mode with HTC One with the software release 1.29.401.12 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 equipped with the I9505XXUAMDM.

The format of the different pairs of shots is related to the native format of the two sensors: HTC One has a 4.3-megapixel sensor in 16:9 format, while the Samsung Galaxy S4 is equipped with a sensor 13 megapixels in 4:3. The pictures of HTC One are those located on the left, while the Samsung Galaxy S4 are placed in the right column.

The crop at 100% torque photo above demonstrates the benefits of a sensor with a higher resolution. Note the readability of the label.

Some pretty objective elements emerged in the course of our comparative concern the trend of HTC One to underexpose the scene, unlike the Samsung Galaxy S4 that seems to follow, in automatic mode, the settings less conservative regarding exposure (even at the risk of overexposing some areas). The white balance algorithms are not always reliable with both devices, and each offers shots with good color rendering, interspersed with others in which the yield is rather distorted with respect to the actual falls.

Another fact quite objective about the gap in terms of megapixels between the two cameras. It ‘s true that for most uses 4 megapixels are sufficient, but it is equally true that, in case of enlargement of portions of the scene the extra megapixel sensor Galaxy S4 allow you to grasp the details that HTC One can not play. Exemplary is the case of the label placed on the fence that appears readable with the magnification to 100% of the photos taken by SGS4.

leave to you the final word on the winner, as we prepare for a new session of comparative shots at night.
